Top Ten Things You Should Know When Grocery Shopping

1) NEVER go when you're hungry. You end up buying a disarray of things and waste money.

2) Did you know?--Often the store brand of a product (not a fancy label) is the same as the leading or second leading name-brand of the same product?

3) ^ ^ ^ The store brand is always cheaper and pretty good!

4) Invest in the Sunday paper. For $1.25-$1.75 you get a ton of coupons and on average save $5.00 each week you shop--that's a savings of $3.25-$3.75!

5) Go with a plan. Think about the things you want to eat during the week and map it out!

6) Leave the junk food behind! (Ok, just get ONE box of Oreos!) Junk food and soda adds up really quickly on your wallet and on you ... be careful!

7) Go with friends. More often than not you will agree to share something and end up splitting the cost.

8) Try for local! Farmers markets are the greatest thing, especially for inexpensive produce/vegetables ... You may have to do some digging to find one near by but its worth it!

9) Get reusable bags. Enough said.

10) Ask questions. Don't know where something is? Ask! Curious about how something would taste in a dish you want to make? Ask! That is why grocery stores hire people. To answer questions.
